“Today’s SCOTUS ruling upholds an undeniable truth: no one should fear losing their job because of who they are. We must do all we can to ensure LGBTQ employees and applicants are treated equally in the workplace, and that includes protecting them from discrimination simply because they live as their authentic self.
“It is fitting that as we celebrate the LGBTQ community during Pride Month, our nation affirms the community’s rights and extends protections to them. But we still have more work to do. Here in Michigan, we must continue to fight for the expansion of the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ individuals in housing, public accommodations and more.”
