STERLING HEIGHTS — State Rep. Nate Shannon (D-Sterling Heights) hosted a town hall yesterday about the current state of Michigan’s roads. The event included a discussion with experts and city officials about the state’s crumbling roads and infrastructure, followed by a Q&A on ways to address the issue.
“It was encouraging to see so many community members come out and take part in this discussion,” Shannon said. “With all of the different plans being thrown around these days, it is important to make sure everyone stays engaged and informed, and I think everybody learned something tonight.”
Shannon was joined by Michigan Department of Transportation Director Paul C. Ajegba and guests from the city of Sterling Heights. Ajegba gave a presentation on Gov. Whitmer’s proposed road funding plans, and constituents were able to ask questions and express their opinions about the plan.
