CHARLOTTE — Today, state Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) joined the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee and U.S. Soy Export Council in welcoming trade officials from Japan to Charlotte for an event highlighting Michigan’s local soybean farmers.

“Michigan has a long history as a leader in the world’s soybean market,” Witwer said. “And there are many family farms right here in our community that contribute to that rich tradition. The quality product and personal values of Michigan farmers are what make doing business here so attractive, and this was a great opportunity to showcase that to our friends from around the world.”

The purpose of the event was to allow international trade representatives to get a first-hand look at examples of soybean operations in the area, demonstrating the longevity and dependability that comes along with multi-generation farms.
