LANSING, Mich., Dec. 13, 2021 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) today to announce that Cosma Body Assembly, a division of Magna International, is expanding its operations in Lyon Township with an investment of over $23 million that’s expected to create 68 jobs. Magna International is an auto supplier with 35 facilities and over 10,000 employees in Michigan. In response to the announcement, state Rep. Kelly Breen (D-Novi) issued the following statement:

“Investments like these are proof that Michigan has the knowledge, infrastructure and highly skilled workers to remain the automotive capital of the world, even as we transition to electric vehicles. The push toward EV and self-driving technologies will breathe new life into the industry and revitalize Michigan’s economy along with it. I look forward to continuing to make Michigan an attractive long-term location for investment from the auto industry.”
