TRENTON, Mich., Feb. 20, 2020 — State Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown), State Rep. Stephanie Chang (D-Detroit), Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy Director Liesl Clark, and other local elected officials and environmental experts held a town hall tonight to discuss environmental issues Downriver.
“Because of our industrial past, we face a set of unique environmental challenges Downriver,” said Camilleri. “But we also have so much potential. We have a lot of work to do to make sure our region’s incredible natural resources are safe and usable for generations to come, and I’m proud to be a partner in that fight as we address climate change and plan Downriver’s future.”
The discussion, which covered air and water quality and Superfund sites, among other issues, was held at Trenton’s Westfield Activity Center.
