LANSING — The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) recently announced a $600,000 Brownfield Redevelopment Grant and a $1 million Brownfield Redevelopment Loan to revitalize and safely reuse a 9-acre former manufacturing site in Woodhaven. The award will be used to remove contaminated soil and contribute to the development of new restaurants, retail and office buildings, and a public park. Celebrating the announcement, state Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown) issued the following statement:

“Woodhaven is constantly growing and evolving, and projects like this just add to its future potential. Not only will this project likely create as many as 400 jobs, the responsible and thorough cleanup of this site will improve outcomes across our Downriver community for years to come.”
