LANSING, Mich., January 26, 2022— Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her fourth State of the State address tonight from Detroit Diesel. Her remarks highlighted the need to continue investing in the state’s infrastructure, supporting public education and growing the economy. In response, Representative Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) issued the following statement:
“I’m looking forward to working with Governor Whitmer and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to continue attracting businesses that provide good-paying jobs, put money back into the pockets of Michiganders to spend in our economy, and address the many challenges our public schools are facing. Over the last few years, I’ve worked on these issues – including expanding the EITC and repealing the Pension Tax – and it’s time to get them done. I’m looking forward to the real results that Michigan needs this Legislative Session.”
