TRENTON — Trenton Mayor Kyle Stack passed away suddenly this past Friday, shortly after voters had elected her to a third four-year-term in early November. Mayor Pro-Tempore Steve Rzeppa was sworn in this morning as the city’s interim mayor. In response, state Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown) issued the following statement:

"The loss of Mayor Stack is devastating not only for Trenton but for our entire Downriver community as a whole. She was a public servant in the truest sense, and all of us Downriver are better off for her years of dedicated service. Kyle leaves big shoes to fill in the Mayor's Office, but I am confident that Steve Rzeppa has the skills to carry on her great legacy of leadership for Trenton. In his work on Trenton City Council, Steve has shown his great dedication to Trenton and the people who call it home, and I look forward to working with Mayor Rzeppa to continue building a Trenton that makes us all proud."
