LANSING — Today, state Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown Township) joined Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist on a tour of Woodhaven High School’s career and technical facilities and discussed the state of public education in the community with local administrators, teachers and students. This event was part of a larger tour to highlight job training programs across the state. In response, Rep. Camilleri issued the following statement:

“Home to the Downriver Career Technical Consortium, Woodhaven High School is a statewide leader in the kinds of career training programs that are so vital to moving Michigan forward. Gov. Whitmer has made it clear that closing the skills gap will be one of Michigan’s top priorities going forward, and I couldn’t agree more. We’re honored to welcome Lt. Gov. Gilchrist to Downriver as part of this important and ongoing conversation about expanding job training opportunities across Michigan.”
