Friends and Neighbors,

Here’s a look at what I’ve been doing at the Capitol and in the district.

Capital Update

Last Friday, I met with the Capital Council of Governments, a collaboration of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and Michigan State University. We talked about the region’s shared challenges and opportunities as we reviewed CapCOG’s achievements and priorities.

Tuesday night, I attended Gov.Whitmer’s State of the Union response at East Lansing High School. Gov. Whitmer’s remarks were focused on creating an economy that works for everyone—regardless of race, class, gender or sexual orientation. I was happy to have Michigan highlighted on a national platform, and I am proud to have such a dedicated public servant as our governor.

District Update

Mason Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner

Last night, I presented tributes to the award recipients at the Mason Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner. It was a privilege to be able to honor some of the businesses, organizations and individuals that go above and beyond for our community.

Coffee and Conversation

Please join me on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Sam Corey Senior Center in Holt for coffee and conversation. I will provide a legislative update and answer questions. This event is free and open to the public, so please stop by!

District Awards

We are still taking submissions for our 67th House District Awards!

If you know of a young person in the district who deserves to be recognized for going the extra mile to make our community a better place, please nominate them using the form here.

If you own or know of a business in the 67th House District that deserves to be recognized for making our community a better place, please nominate them for recognition here.

Sincerely,

Kara
