Dear friends,
I hope you can join me at a meeting I am hosting to discuss the Iron Belle Trail tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 6-8 p.m. in the Ypsilanti Township Civic Center Board Room, 7200 S. Huron River Drive in Ypsilanti. The evening will include a presentation on what the Iron Belle Trail is and how it works.
According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Iron Belle Trail is the longest designated state trail in the nation running between Belle Isle Park in Detroit and Ironwood in the Upper Peninsula. The bicycle route will top out at almost 800 miles and the hiking route will weave its way nearly 1,300 miles through Michigan. Both routes will impact our local community.
We will be discussing the trail and how it enters our communities, along with information about the routing, funding, key access items and potential spurs. I hope to see you there!
As always, please contact my office if you have any questions or concerns. You can call me and my staff at (517) 373-1771 or email us at RonniePeterson@house.mi.gov.
Sincerely,
State Rep. Ronnie Peterson
