Child Care Providers Across Michigan Receive $365 Million

Last week, nearly 6,000 child care providers across the state received $365 million through the Child Care Stabilization Grant program. This includes $1,000 bonuses for nearly 25,000 full-time child care staff and $500 bonuses for more than 13,000 part-time child care staff. Grant recipients can be viewed by county and by provider.

There will be a second opportunity in the late spring for child care providers to receive grant funding. My office will share the application information once it becomes available. More information about the Child Care Stabilization Grant program can be found at

House Session Canceled for the Week

As you might have heard, the Michigan House of Representatives will not hold session this week. We were scheduled to meet Tuesday through Thursday. However, the Speaker of the House decided to cancel session because of the high number of representatives and staff who have COVID-19. Hopefully, we will be back to a normal schedule next week. In the meantime, my office is here to help you by phone at (517) 373-0587 or by email at
