Dear Friend,

Happy Black History Month! This month, and every day, it is important we recognize and celebrate the contributions made by Black trailblazers in our state. Last year, I produced a video highlighting Black leadership in the Michigan Legislature. If you haven’t seen it, I encourage you to check it out by clicking the image below.

Whether it’s working to eliminate housing discrimination or advocating for the CROWN Act to end race-based hair discrimination, I will never stop fighting for a more equitable, diverse Michigan. If you have ideas about how we can achieve that goal, I want to hear them. You can email me at sarahanthony@house.mi.gov.

Read on in this e-newsletter to learn about a few upcoming events. Please feel free to reach out at any time with questions, concerns or feedback.

In Service,

Sarah

Upcoming Events

Virtual Veterans Listening Tour: Feb. 18 from noon-1:30 p.m.

Please join me this Friday for a virtual listening session for veterans in Mid-Michigan. This is one stop on a larger, statewide listening tour hosted by the Michigan House Democrats and the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. We want to hear directly from the brave men and women who have served our country to learn more about the issues that matter most to them and their families. The event will be hosted via Zoom and live streamed on my official Facebook page, @RepSarahAnthony.

Click HERE to register. Individuals are also encouraged to submit questions in advance when they register.

Virtual Constituent Coffee Hour: Feb. 28 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

My next constituent coffee hour is right around the corner. We scheduled this event to coincide with the traditional lunch hour to make sure it is accessible for everyone, including those working a 9-5 job. Grab a cup of coffee and join my team and me for legislative updates and casual conversation. The event will take place on Zoom, and you can RSVP here.
