Upcoming Event: Health Insurance Open Enrollment Virtual Town Hall Series

The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is holding a series of virtual town halls on health insurance. These events will inform residents about new health plan options, newly extended savings, and increased opportunities for help during the Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment period.

The DIFS Open Enrollment Virtual Town Halls will take place on Thursday, Jan. 12, at noon. To participate in one of these town halls, click on the event link at its start time. No pre-registration is required.

Michiganders have until Jan. 15, 2023, to purchase health insurance for 2023. For more information, call DIFS at (877) 999-6442, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or visit Michigan.gov/HealthInsurance.

101st Legislative Term Comes to a Close

Last Wednesday, the 101st Legislature met for the final time. It has been an honor and privilege to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives this term. I look forward to continuing to serve in the House representing the new 74th House District during the 2023-24 session. This new district includes all of South Lansing and Delhi Township. The other parts of my current district — Mason, Leslie, Stockbridge, Williamston and adjacent townships — are now a part of the new 73rd district, which will be represented by state Rep. I will miss serving the small towns and rural areas of Ingham County that will no longer be part of my district, but I look forward to continuing to represent the Capital area. Additionally, I am excited to be part of the majority leadership team; next term, I will serve as assistant majority floor leader. Thank you for the past four years!
