Hello Friends,
As June has come and gone, I hope that you all have the chance to enjoy some quality time with family and friends and soak in Michigan’s beautiful outdoors.
The Michigan Legislature is officially on our summer in-district work period. We are scheduled to resume session in September! Over the next few months my office will spend time connecting with constituents across Canton, so we hope to see you at community events.
As always, if our office can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Ranjeev Puri

FINAL E-NEWSLETTER UNTIL AUGUST
During an election year, House offices must comply with a number of rules when it comes to use of taxpayer resources. Starting on July 6, we will be entering a mass communication blackout period. This means that until Aug. 6, our office will be unable to send mass communications, such as our biweekly e-newsletters or notices about coffee hours. This will be the final e-newsletter until the blackout period is over.
UPCOMING TIME WITH RANJEEV
Community Conversations
Due to the mass communication blackout period mentioned above, and a slower agenda due to summer recess, we will resume coffee hours in September. Stay tuned for more information in August!
LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Legislature Passes Out FY25 State Budget
I am excited to announce that on June 27, 2024, the Michigan Legislature passed the fiscal year 2025 state budget! I am glad that both chambers and parties were able to work together, making the necessary compromises to fund the many Michigan departments and programs that are essential to the wellbeing of our state.
This budget supports students, boosts public safety, builds affordable housing, and will help anyone “make it” in Michigan.
For more information on what was included in the FY25 budget, you can go here.
Rep. Puri Secures $5.75M for Canton Township
During this budget cycle, I worked diligently to bring home money directly to our community. I am proud to have been able to secure
- $3.25 million for Palmer Road Pedestrian Pathway (I-275 overpass) to make it safe for bikers and walkers
- $2.5 million for Summit Renovations
These are huge wins for our community, and these dollars will make such an important impact on the lives of our community members.

They have the most warm and welcoming atmosphere!
Science Olympiad 2024
I was pleased to present official state of Michigan certificates signed by myself and Gov. Whitmer to 45 students from East Middle School and three mentors for their participation and performance in the Science Olympiad tournament. Congratulations to the Science Olympiad team!

I was recently featured on the TV show Let it Rip to discuss the impact of gun violence on our state. I am thankful to have such a platform to discuss ideas for how to make our state safer and save innocent lives.
