Legislative Updates
I’m proud to share that four of the bills I sponsored received a majority of votes and passed out of the House.
-
House Bill 6058: House This bill amends Public Act 152, also known as the 80/20 Law, Publicly Funded Health Insurance Contribution Act. Amending this law will provide immediate financial relief for public employees in the upcoming year, including teachers, firefighters, police officers and municipal workers, by saving them thousands of dollars per year on their health insurance costs. After passing both the Michigan House and Senate, I’m happy to announce that this bill is headed to the governor’s desk for signing!

-
House Bill 5841: This legislation is part of a larger bill package that will enhance protections for victims of human trafficking in the courtroom and beyond.
-
House Bill 5826: Part of the “Momnibus” package, which aims to improve maternal health in our state, my legislation creates a scholarship fund for individuals who experience financial hardship and are training to become a Doula to work in underserved communities. Doulas provide essential support for new and expectant mothers. This bill is an investment in the health and future of Michigan families.
-
House Bill 6106: My bill is part of a package that improves regulations and requirements in the Insurance Code relating to captive insurers. Together, these bills provide flexibility and oversight for captive insurance companies operating in the state of Michigan.
-
House Bill 5799: My bill is part of a package that modernizes regulations and enhances oversight of money transmissions and protects consumers from financial crimes.
On Dec. 3, I joined Michigan’s firefighters on the steps of the Capitol to advocate for HB 4688, which would allow our firefighters to have conversations regarding staffing levels during the bargaining process. This legislation will protect the lives of the people who put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect us. I’m hopeful that my colleagues will join me in voting to pass legislation like this to send a clear message to our firefighters, first responders and paramedics that we appreciate their courage, dedication and sacrifice.
Request Tributes, Letters and Certificates

It would be an honor for me to recognize the achievements and milestones in the 13th House District, no matter how big or small!
