Dear Neighbor,

Here is some information that I hope you will find helpful, including some updates and news from your state government.

New Legislative Districts

I am grateful for the privilege to continue to serve in the House during the 2023-24 session. As you likely know, Michigan underwent redistricting before this year’s elections. Our new district is the 74th, which includes all of south Lansing and Delhi Township. The other areas of my current district, the 67th, include Mason, Leslie, Stockbridge and Williamston. Adjacent townships are part of the new 73rd district, which will be represented by state Rep. Julie Brixie.

I will miss serving the areas that are no longer part of my district, but I look forward to continuing to serve south Lansing and Delhi Township. The new term starts in January 2023.

DIFS Encourages Drivers to Review Their Vehicle-Deer Collision Coverage

The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is reminding drivers to review their vehicle deer-collision coverage on their auto-insurance policy. While these accidents occur all year, the fall deer hunting season and shorter daylight hours increase the number of deer-related crashes. If you are involved in a deer collision, pull off the road, turn on your emergency flashers and do not approach the deer. Report the crash to the nearest police agency and your insurance company. If your vehicle seems potentially unsafe to drive, call for a tow.
