State of the State Scheduled for Jan. 25; Student Art Contest Announced for Address
Gov. Whitmer will deliver her fifth State of the State address at the state Capitol on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. The State of the State program’s cover will again feature student art. K-12 students are encouraged to submit a design on the theme, “What makes Michigan strong?”. For more information, click here. Submissions must be received by Saturday, Jan. 15.

Michigan DNR Seeks Input on State Parks and Recreation Plan
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently seeking public comment on its Parks and Recreation Division Strategic Plan for 2023-27. The DNR manages 103 state parks and recreation areas throughout Michigan, the state’s boating program, state trail systems, and state forest campgrounds. The draft plan is available to view here. Comments can be sent to DNR-PRD-Planning@Michigan.gov through Jan. 20.
