LANSING, Mich., Jan. 21, 2025 — The National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) announced its 2025 Committee Leadership appointing state Rep. Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac) as chair of the Life Insurance and Financial Planning Committee. Following her appointment, Carter issued the following statement:

“I am deeply honored to be appointed chair of the Life Insurance & Financial Planning Committee for NCOIL. This role is an incredible opportunity to address critical issues in life insurance and financial planning that impact individuals and families across the nation. As a state representative from Michigan, I have consistently championed policies that protect consumers and promote financial literacy.
