PONTIAC, Mich., July 4, 2025 — State Rep. Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac) recently introduced House Resolution 141 to recognize July 1, 2025, as Invisible Wounds Day in the state of Michigan. The resolution serves as a solemn yet vital reminder of the emotional injuries that too often go unseen. After introducing the resolution, Carter issued the following statement:

“As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day and honor the sacrifices of those who served our nation, it’s important to recognize that not all wounds are visible. This resolution is more than symbolic — it’s a call to action for awareness, healing and compassion. When I lost my son Bryan, my world changed forever. His life was stolen in a moment, but the trauma of that loss lives with me daily. We must stop asking people to be strong in silence. Strength is in seeking help, sharing your story and finding a path forward.”
