LANSING, Mich., Aug. 11, 2021 — Today, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the awarding of a combined $3.7 million in road funding grants to small cities and villages. The city of Ecorse will receive $218,000, a 50% match, for repairs to 6th Street, Elton Street and 15th Street. In response, state Rep. Tyrone Carter (D-Detroit) issued the following statement:

“Everyone in this state deserves to drive on safe roads. I applaud Gov. Whiter and the Michigan Department of Transportation for their continued commitment to improve our roads and infrastructure. With this grant, the city of Ecorse can meet some of its crucial needs for road repair right away.”
