LANSING – State Representative John Chirkun (D-Roseville) announced his House committee assignments today for the 2015-16 legislative session. Chirkun will serve on the House Communications and Technology, Financial Liability Reform and Regulatory Reform Committees. Chirkun is serving his first term in the state House.
“I am excited to get to work in these committees to study legislation and get bills ready for debate on the House floor,” said Chirkun. “My committees will address everything from new technologies to the way we communicate with each other, to pension and financial issues to the regulations governing many occupations as well as other aspects of our daily lives. I look forward to working with my House colleagues on sensible legislation that will improve life for Macomb County residents and people throughout Michigan.”
The House Committee on Communications and Technology is a new committee for this session. The Financial and Liability Reform Committee covers policies that involve government finance such as pensions and bond matters. The Regulatory Reform Committee considers matters related to licensing for occupations, regulations for some athletic contests and liquor control regulations to name just a few.
