ROSEVILLE — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced an Executive Directive today requiring state departments to give preference to Michigan businesses when making purchasing decisions, boosting the economy and keeping good-paying jobs in-state. State Rep. John Chirkun (D-Roseville) was in attendance for the announcement, and after the event, issued the following statement:

“When we give preference to local businesses, we are investing in the workers, their families and the communities they live in. An investment like that goes a long way toward keeping good-paying jobs here at home and helping spur continued development and growth. I will continue to do all I can to support the spirit of this directive and ensure our government is putting Michigan and our families first.”
