LANSING — State Rep. John Chirkun (D-Roseville) celebrated the signing of House Bill 4173 today, which he introduced earlier this year to make changes to the regulation of charitable gaming events in Michigan. Following the bill signing, Chirkun issued the following statement:

“When Gov. Snyder moved regulation of charitable gaming to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, many charities began struggling to raise the money needed to fund the important work they do in communities across our state. My bill allows Michigan’s charities to more easily continue the great work they do while providing a common sense regulatory structure. I would like to thank everyone that has helped throughout this process, and Gov. Whitmer for recognizing the importance of this legislation by signing it into law today.
