LANSING — State Rep. Pam Faris (D-Clio) celebrated the city of Davison being awarded a Community Development Block Grant to be used in the renovation of the historic downtown Davison Hotel. The funds will be used to transform the city’s oldest downtown building into a bar and grill.

“I am grateful to the Michigan Strategic Fund for recognizing the potential that resides in developing downtown Davison, and for investing in such a promising renovation,” Rep. Faris said. “This project will not only breathe new life into the building, but it will be maintaining the legacy of this historic piece of architecture as it brings an estimated 15 full-time jobs to the area. I look forward to watching this project progress and seeing the city of Davison continue to thrive.”

The Michigan Strategic Fund, in cooperation with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, awards economic and community development portions of the federal Community Development Block Grant program. The program receives its funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
