LANSING, Mich., March 2, 2022 — House Bill 5712, sponsored by state Rep. Cara A. Clemente (D-Lincoln Park), unanimously passed the Michigan House of Representatives today. The bill would designate a portion of M-85 as Sgt. Craig S. Frank Memorial Highway, honoring a Michigan National Guard military police officer killed in an ambush while guarding a convoy traveling north of Baghdad.
“At the young age of 24, Sgt. Frank made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” Clemente said. “He is not only a hero of Lincoln Park, but of Michigan and this nation. This bill will help us keep his courage and memory alive while honoring the contributions and sacrifices he made to defend us.”
The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
