LANSING, Mich., Jan. 26, 2022 — Today, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her fourth State of the State address from Detroit Diesel. Her remarks highlighted proposals to improve the lives of Michigan families. In response, Cara A. Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) issued the following statement:

“In her address, Gov. Whitmer showed she is committed to Michigan and solving the issues that matter to people across the state. Repealing the retirement tax, capping insulin prices and increasing the Earned Income Tax Credit will provide Michiganders the relief they need. Investing in mental health resources will remedy the cracks in the system revealed by the COVID-19 epidemic. Improving our infrastructure will grow our economy and create jobs. These our Michigan values we all believe in, and I look forward to working to achieve these goals.”
