LANSING, Mich., Jan. 27, 2021 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her State of the State address tonight, outlining her vision for Michigan and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the ongoing issues facing communities during the pandemic. In response, State Representative Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) issued the following statement:
“We began 2020 with hopes of rebuilding our aging infrastructure and continuing the progress of equitable access to quality education in Michigan. We made progress on these goals even in the face of the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. All branches of Michigan government must work together to address the crisis at hand by ensuring schools and businesses have the needed resources to reopen. Focusing on these core values will lay a strong foundation for Michigan’s future.”
