LANSING — State Rep. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) was officially sworn in today as representative for the 14th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Clemente issued the following statement:

“It is a privilege to serve my Downriver community for a second term, and I am excited to be a member of the 100th Legislature. Being in the 100th Legislature makes me reflect not only on the work that previous 99 legislative sessions have undertaken, but on how the legislative body has changed over that time. It is has now become more representative of all Michigan citizens, and I know the legislature is stronger because of it. Gov. Whitmer has shown an openness to solve Michigan’s biggest issues, and I look forward to working with her administration.”
