LANSING — State Rep. Kevin Coleman (D-Westland) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 16th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Coleman issued the following statement:
“I’m honored that Westland and Wayne have chosen me to serve them in the Michigan House, and I’m committed to working with my fellow representatives to overcome our state’s challenges. With a focus on government transparency, criminal justice reform, and improving our education system, I will work to hold government accountable to the people. Guided by my constituents, I will also strive to address the issues most vital to our community. We have an incredible opportunity to create meaningful change in Michigan, and I intend to make it count.”
