Mental Health

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This is no small thing and should not be overlooked. I can honestly say I don’t know a single person who hasn’t experienced some type of stress, anxiety or even depression in the midst of the ongoing global pandemic. Unfortunately, many never sought help to work through these emotions.

Did you know:

  • 2 million people with mental illness are imprisoned each year.
  • 1 in 4 people killed by police between 2015-2020 had a mental illness, and of those, 1 in 3 are people of color.
  • Over 47,500 people die by suicide every year.

I encourage everyone, whether they have experienced these negative emotions or not, to join us Monday, May 9, at 10 a.m. on Facebook live or via Zoom to learn more and receive resources for yourself or others.

You can join via Zoom.
