Dear Neighbors,
Thank you for taking the time to read this e-newsletter. This is an invitation to attend my ceremonial swearing-in event on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 3-8 pm at Detroit Gospel Theatre, 4800 Grand River in Detroit. The oath office will be administered by Justice Richard Bernstein of the Michigan Supreme Court.
Following the swearing-in, we will have remarks and updates from several community leaders including special guests:
Attorney and former state Rep. Rose Mary C. Robinson, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, Wayne County Commissioner Jewel Ware, former state Rep. Alberta Tinsley-Talabi and others
There will also be a community concert featuring special guest Sharon Love Jones and an Aretha Franklin tribute.
Order of events:
Finger Foods served at 3 p.m.
Networking: 3-4 p.m.
Swearing in and remarks: 4-5:30 p.m.
Community concert: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
