Dear Friend, Families and individuals with incomes up to $57,000 may be eligible for free tax help with the Accounting Aid Society. If you pay rent, heating bills or property taxes and are not working but have other income, you may also still be eligible for some tax credits, such as a heat credit and a property tax credit. The Accounting Aid Society is currently scheduling appointments for 2021 tax returns only. You can schedule your appointment online or call (313) 556-1920. Due to COVID-19, appointments are required. For a list of what to bring to your appointment, click here. If you are in need of any support or resources or have questions regarding legislation or state government in general, please feel free to reach out to me at my office via email at CynthiaAJohnson@house.mi.gov or by calling (517) 373-0844. It’s an honor to serve as the representative from the 5th House District, and I will continue to be a strong advocate in Lansing for the residents and families of Detroit. In Service, Cynthia A.
