“We would like to lend our support to the Detroit City Council’s proposed ordinance to allow adult-use marijuana licensing within the city of Detroit. This ordinance is a measured approach that satisfies the will of Detroiters. We know this ordinance will ultimately help many residents begin to produce generational wealth as well as help the city absorb some of the financial fall-out caused by a global pandemic. It will also provide safe community access for Detroit consumers. We implore the Detroit City Council to pass this ordinance and usher in this new industry and we look forward to seeing the positive impact that the adult-use marijuana ordinance will have on the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan.”
Members of the Detroit Caucus Executive Committee include state Reps. Sherry Gay-Dagnogo, Tyrone Carter, Tenisha Yancey and Joe Tate.
