LANSING — DTE Energy Foundation recently announced that it will provide $400,000 in grants to Michigan domestic violence shelters in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The grants will provide funds to 44 domestic violence shelters across the state for support of critical services and training for these organizations, including Every Women’s Place in Muskegon. In response, state Rep. Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) issued the following statement:
“Too many families in our community face issues with domestic violence, and we need to do all we can to support survivors. I appreciated DTE Energy’s understanding the we must provide safe spaces for survivors to access the resources they need to begin to put their lives back together. This grant will go a long way toward doing that for the greater-Muskegon community.”
