LANSING — State Rep. Brian K. Elder (D-Bay City) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 96th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Elder issued the following statement:
“For too long, special interests in Lansing have made the needs of working families in our state take a backseat to the wants of corporate CEOs. That era is over. As we embark on this new session, I look forward to working with my colleagues and the new administration to ensure my people are put first by their government. It is time we unrig the rules against working Michiganders once and for all.”
