LANSING — State Rep. Pam Faris (D-Clio) is reminding constituents that students in grades 1-8 can still submit entry forms for her summer reading contest until Labor Day. Contest winners will be announced on Sept. 14.

“I could not be more pleased with the response that we have received from students becoming more engaged in reading throughout the summer,” Rep. Faris said. “Books can open up a world of imagination and creativity while also keeping readers’ minds active. I encourage students to continue reading through Labor Day and then send in their entries.”

The contest ends on Labor Day and is open to all local students in grades 1-8. Libraries serving students in the 48th House District may still have bookmarks available that also serve as entry forms. Online entry forms are available at faris.housedems.com. Students only need to write down the title and total page count of the books they read throughout the summer. All submissions must be received on or before Sept. 13.

Mailed entries may be sent to Rep. Pam Faris, P.O. Box 30014, Lansing, MI. 48909-7514. Winners from grades 1-4 and 5-8 will be announced on Sept. 14. For more information, contact Rep. Faris at (517) 373-7557.

*This is not a school-sponsored contest. Prizes are not paid for with taxpayer funds.
