TAYLOR, Mich., June 28, 2022 — The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy recently announced that Romulus was awarded a Drinking Water Asset Management (DWAM) Grant of nearly $500,000. This grant program was the first to be developed by EGLE under the MI Clean Water Plan, a plan to invest $500 million to help communities around the state upgrade drinking water and wastewater infrastructure. State Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) issued the following statement in support of the grant:

“Recent floods and sewage concerns in my district emphasize the need for updates and improvements to our water infrastructure. The grant gives Romulus the resources it needs. It will significantly benefit our community by bringing us one step closer to ensuring everyone has access to clean, safe and affordable water.”
