LANSING, Mich., July 1, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed a budget today that includes significant investments in education, local communities and the economy. Specifically, the state budget includes $1 million for the Romulus sidewalk project. In response, state Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) issued the following statement in support of the budget’s passage:

“When we put aside our political differences and focus on the people, the Michigan Legislature can come together and provide substantial change for our great state. This budget directly impacts people in the district by increasing the safety of pedestrians on Wayne Road by connecting sidewalks in Romulus. It also makes vital investments in our economy, education, public safety and infrastructure that Michiganders across the state can feel.”
