LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues that matter most to Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) issued the following statement:

“I was honored to stand alongside a steadfast servant of our community as Gov. Whitmer declared her commitment to building bridges and moving Michigan forward. From our roads to our classrooms, we have a lot of work to do to make Michigan a better place to live. I am confident that we stand ready to face those challenges now as we are led by a governor who has made everyday Michiganders, not wealthy special interests, the priority in our state.”

Rep. Garza was joined by Romulus Treasurer Stacy Paige for the address.
