LANSING, Mich., July 12, 2022 — Organizers for the Reproductive Freedom For All petition delivered signatures to the Bureau of Elections yesterday. The petition would amend the Michigan Constitution to ensure that no one goes to prison for providing safe medical care as well as ensure access to a broad range of reproductive health care, including abortion. State Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) issued the following statement on the delivery of the signatures:
“The fact that organizers of this petition gathered three-quarters of a million signatures is nothing short of amazing. I want to thank the people who secured those signatures and the people who signed this petition. Michiganders deserve the right to make their own health care choices, and that includes when and whether to be pregnant.”
