LANSING — State Rep. Sherry Gay-Dagnogo (D-Detroit) honored military members and their families today as part of both the House’s Sept. 11 memorial ceremony, and in celebration of Detroit’s Marine Week. Rep. Gay-Dagnogo’s special guest was Maj. Gen. Paul Kennedy, accompanied by Sgt. Maj. Michael Lanpolsaen, Master Sgt. Damian Cason and 1st Lt. Andrew Herbert.
“I had the pleasure of meeting these service men, and many others, while attending the Marine Week Detroit Community Leaders Reception earlier this week,” said Rep. Gay-Dagnogo. “I cannot tell you how impressed I was by both their dedication to the Marine Corps and their love of service for their country. It is fitting as we use this day to remember those who have given their lives to protect the American people — including those we lost on Sept. 11 — that we reflect on service in every capacity.”
