LANSING, Mich., July 1, 2022 — Today, the Michigan House of Representatives passed the fiscal year 2023 state budget. The finalized budget is the successful result of much negotiation and work on the part of legislators, and the work has paid off, as the budget agreement includes funds that will galvanize continued job creation and protect Michigan’s natural resources. In response to the budget approval, state Rep. Carol Glanville (D-Walker) issued the following statement:

“The passage of this state budget illustrates the beneficial gains that can come out of legislative work and compromise. It signifies a bright future for Michigan, but, even more importantly, it outlines smart investments and responsible spending that bring practical wins for Michiganders. I am also proud to have advocated for funding included in the house budget for a new fire engine for the city of Grandville. Additionally, from this budget will come good-paying jobs and a healthier environment for our residents.”
