GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., August 23, 2023 — This week, the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) announced a significant investment that will enhance the vibrancy of Grand Rapids. W&S Development Partners LLC has unveiled plans for a mixed-use development project on Wealthy Street, located within the Wealthy/Sheldon corridor.
The project, with an estimated total capital investment of $16.4 million, will transform an important piece of property along the Wealthy Street Southeast corridor. This endeavor brings an infusion of 58 market-rate apartments and about 2,400 square feet of commercial space. The project’s realization is bolstered by the support of a $3 million Michigan Community Revitalization Program loan through the Michigan Strategic Fund.
In response to the funding, state Rep. Kristian Grant (D-Grand Rapids) released the following statement:
“I’m thrilled to see the enthusiastic response to this project. W&S Development Partners’ commitment to investing in our district will help bring about a resurgence of vitality to our community. This initiative represents a significant stride toward our collective goal of increasing access to housing and investing in this community.”
