Grant Celebrates Grand Rapids Public Museum Funding

 Investments expand preservation of archives for the public

 

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 15, 2024 — The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) will receive a check for $1 million from the state for needed preservation support for the museum. GRPM preserves about 95% of its collections in secure, climate-controlled storage. The updates to this space will improve community access to over 250,000 artifacts and specimens for students and the public, allowing for in-depth study, scholarship and reflection.

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. with speakers starting at 1:30 p.m.

 

WHERE: Grand Rapids Public Museum Community Archives and Research Center (CARC)

PARKING: Limited free parking is available in the CARC parking lot or on surrounding streets

Tours of the CARC will be offered before and after the check presentation for those in attendance.
