LANSING – Today, House Republicans introduced and passed a resolution related to the ongoing League of Women Voters et al v. Jocelyn Benson partisan gerrymandering lawsuit. In response to its passage, House Democratic Leader Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills) issued the following statement:
“Fair and constitutional elections are a cornerstone of our democracy, yet instead of taking action to strengthen government of, for and by the people, Republicans in Lansing are wasting time on a meaningless resolution. Michiganders made it clear that they want their leaders to focus on solving the big issues facing our state by fixing the roads, strengthening our schools and cleaning up our water. Democrats are ready to roll up our sleeves and get the job done for Michigan families and we hope our colleagues across the aisle will put aside partisan politics and join us in that important work.”
