BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Dec. 12, 2023 — WK Kellogg Co. recently announced its decision to reverse course and maintain its operations in Battle Creek. It had announced in September 2021 that it would move some of its operations to Bellevue, Ontario, which would have eliminated 170 jobs in Michigan. Instead, the company will invest at least $44 million in Battle Creek in part thanks to a $5 million Michigan Economic Development Corp. grant. In response to the welcome news, state Rep. Jim Haadsma (D-Battle Creek) released the following statement:

“I’m impressed with the teams at BCU and MEDC and the willingness of the WK Kellogg Co. to renew its commitment here in Battle Creek. Michigan is winning competitions now for jobs that support families. Keeping these workers going right here in Battle Creek is grrreat news.”
