LANSING, Mich., Jan. 12, 2023 — Speaker Joe Tate (D-Detroit) announced today the chairs of the Michigan House of Representatives committees. Among those appointed is state Rep. Jim Haadsma (D-Battle Creek) — he has been named chair of the House Labor Committee and House chair on the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.
“I am grateful to have a role as chair of committees this term,” Haadsma said. “Being a part of different stages in the lawmaking process is such a privilege — it allows me the opportunity to more thoroughly advocate for the issues that matter most to the people of Michigan. I know the economy is a central concern for many residents. As chair of the labor committee, I will put Michiganders first by protecting workers, which will lead to a stable and sustainable Michigan.”
