LANSING, Mich., Jan. 17, 2023 — State Rep. Jim Haadsma (D-Battle Creek) is thrilled to announce the city of Albion has been awarded a Drinking Water Asset Management (DWAM) Grant for over $400,000. The grant is part of a program developed by the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) under the MI Clean Water Plan — a plan to invest $500 million to help communities around the state upgrade drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.

“I am absolutely thrilled about the clean water grant that has been awarded to Albion,” Haadsma said. “The funds will help sustain a high standard for water quality in our community. This is essential to the health and well-being of residents and also contributes to Michigan’s overall wellness. I want to express my most sincere gratitude to everyone who had a hand in securing these funds.”
