LANSING, Mich., Dec. 12, 2022 —  Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced she’s awarded $3.3 million in grants to city and county road agencies to help rebuild local roads in areas across Michigan. The nine infrastructure projects aim to support economic development in local communities, including Battle Creek. State Rep. Jim Haadsma (D-Battle Creek) issued the following statement regarding the project news:

“The governor has announced that $370,000 in grant funds has been designated to improve North 20th Street in Battle Creek. This is an important commercial thoroughfare in our city, and it is local-level infrastructure projects like these that encourage economic growth and revitalization. I am grateful for the continued investments in our community.”
